16.04.09 GBO nominated for Italian design award during Salone del Mobile
GBO will present the ‘new CarvX’ in Milan during the Salone del Mobile 2009. The extreme urban carving machine is nominated for the prestiguous Well-Tech Award and will compete with big names such as Fiat, Pininfarina, Honeywell, Fuseproject, Moroso, Viabizzuno and Driade.
To prepare the bicycle for the Well-Tech Award we have cooperated with Rohloff and Willex to increase comfort (backpacks, new bucket seat), safety (brakes, driving mechanism) and to optimize it’s lightweight structure.
The Well-Tech Award is focused on innovative products which distinguish themselves by rational and sustainable solutions using high-end technologies and materials. In collaboration with the Italian government a ceremony is organized for which 30 products from around the globe were selected. The exhibition takes place from the 18th to the 22nd of April in Pallazzo Isimbardi, Corso Montforte 35, Milan. The award ceremony will be held at the same location on the 22nd of April and starts at 18:00 hrs. The jury exists of dignitaries like the President of the federal state of Lombardy, the Governor of the province of Milan, the Mayor of Milan, the chairman of the Chamber of Commerce in Milan and the principal of Politecnico di Milano.
