On October 21 the Design Pressure Cooker (DPC) with the theme ‘Health’ took place in the Green Campus in Helmond. The so-called DPC’s are organized by Syntens for designers and entrepreneurs to stimulate cooperation in an accessible way.
Twelve teams of designers and entrepreneurs from the food- and health sector had to work on a design brief, which the entrepreneurs had previously submitted. After analyzing all the deign briefs, GBO was linked to Dolphys Medical BV from Eindhoven.
Dolphys Medical has developed, together with the Academic Hospital Maastricht, the Ventrain, an emergency breathing device so patients can be properly resuscitated in all situations. The product is especially designed for operating rooms and intensive care units in hospitals and ambulances. During the DPC a package was developed - which above all has to be sterile - but also compact and distinctive. The cooperation between Dolphys Medical and GBO proved a winning combination. The team, consisting of Dirk Asseldonk, Paola Ter Braak (both of Dolphys) and designer Thijs van der Zanden of GBO, came with the best results of the day according to the jury.
The DPC’s of Syntens have since proven to be a successful formula. GBO has previously achieved the first place with the innovative stirrup adapters for GPG Stirrups. Up.
